Superette is a cannabis retail concept created for the Canadian adult-use market. We launched Superette in the Ottawa market in April 2019 and are excited to be part of a fast paced and growing industry.

The Creative Director role manages the creative vision of Superette’s brand. This role is focused on directing all creative touch-4points including in-store graphics, wayfinding and interior design, e-comm and lifestyle photography, social assets, website and other digital marketing collateral. This individual will report to the Chief Brand Officer, oversee the Designer(s), and work closely with the Director of Marketing & Marketing team to drive brand visibility, relevance and evolution. You bring the strengths of your established design practice with you, have a point of view, and are constantly seeking a new or better way of doing something. Additionally, you can easily manage the details without losing the big picture vision for the brand.

As a Creative Director, you are visionary, thoughtful, and a good communicator.


As a Creative Director, you are responsible for

  • Establishing new creative initiatives across all brand touchpoints

  • Managing department timelines, budgets and deliverables for all creative projects

  • Managing the Designers’ workload and establishing goals for their career growth

  • Overseeing and contributing to all design work including merch and apparel, menus, in-store signage and installations, social media materials, newsletters, etc.

  • Collaborating to support the priorities of other departments, ensuring swift and on time delivery of creative assets

  • Creative Directing and engaging other creatives in the community including photographers, web developers, videographers and printers

  • Creative Directing and engaging with construction partners for store build outs

  • Supporting with production and communicating with external vendor partners to manage quality control of all creative work

Reporting Directly To: Chief Brand Officer Travel: Limited – Role based in Toronto


  • 8+ years of design experience, preferably a mix of studio and in-house environments, with a specific focus in branding

  • Previous management level experience as a Creative Director, Art Director, Design Director or equivalent.

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or equivalent is preferable

  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite: Illustrator, inDesign & Photoshop.

  • Basic knowledge of video editing / GIF creation, Keynote

  • Basic knowledge of Mailchimp and other social media platforms

  • Experience executing on brand identities and respective brand guidelines

  • Experience with directing marketing campaigns, especially emails and social posts

  • Experience with wayfinding, signage, retail or exhibition design
